Today, French joins English, Spanish, and Korean in Madi 0.4.0. Like every language in Madi, it works in both directions: you can choose French as your Target Language and write in it, or keep it as your Bridge Language and fall back on it while you write in something else.

French, treated as French

Adding a language to Madi is more than adding it to a list. French brought its own habits, and Madi had to learn them.

In French, small words fold into the next one: l'école, j'ai, c'est. Madi now reads those the way a French speaker does, so école is the word it sees, and the stray l' never turns up on its own.

Availability and an important notice for iCloud sync

French in Madi is available now via TestFlight, in version 0.4.0.

If you use Madi on more than one device with iCloud sync, please update them all. Older versions can't read French essays, and will crash on launch if you have French essays from other devices.

Because of this, older versions of Madi Early Preview will expire in the coming week.
